Community Builders: Wills and powers of attorney
Ashley Fraser • Ottawa Citizen
Chris Spiteri of Spiteri and Ursulak LLP decided he wanted to use what he had in his toolbox to help the community during the pandemic by offering free wills and powers of attorney to those on the front lines. The offer is open to anyone working in hospitals, long-term care facilities, nursing homes, retirement homes and people on active duty out in the community helping others. An application form can be filled out at the firm’s website, then one of the firm’s lawyers will review the information and set up a virtual meeting to finalize the details before drawing up the documents. Spiteri hopes that other lawyers across the country will follow suit and start doing the same to help those working during these times.
If you know of someone doing something exceptional to help, we would love to share their story. Please send details to socialscene@postmedia.com and we will be in touch.
