GM Financial Privacy Breach Class Action

Spiteri and Ursulak LLP is investigating a proposed class action against GM Financial, Moussa Kante, and other defendants in respect of potential breaches of privacy involving customer personal information provided to GM Financial.

GM Financial has advised that personal information pertaining to approximately 2,200 of its customers was “inappropriately accessed” by a former employee who was recently arrested in connection with an identity theft scheme.

Police allege that the former GM Financial employee Moussa Kante provided customer identity information for identity theft purposes. The former employee had worked in the customer service department of GM Financial and formerly Financial Linx for nearly a decade.

Individuals who have been impacted by the GM Financial privacy breach may be entitled to compensation for the breach of their privacy, damages for identity theft and/or damages to their credit reputation, damages for the costs incurred to prevent identity theft, damages for the time spent changing their personal information, and/or compensation for out of pocket expenses.
